replacing rock guards on cutter bar cub-22

Replaced rock guards with replacement guards that were a little different. Section bolts (nnot rivets) would not pass. Have to rethink bolts vs rivets or grind out path thru rock guards for clearance. Anybody have this happen?

I tried the bolts once. Same as you,they wouldn’t work,went back to rivets

How different are the rock guards? Don't the bolts usually hit on the hold down clips? If so replace them with the high arch ones. Or are they somehow hitting the rock guard on the bottom side? A little more detailed description or a picture or two would be helpful.

They hit the Hold downs on mine

As Scrivet suggested, the inner hold down has a higher arch to clear the pittman strap. If you can find 4 (?) more of those, it should work.
