Got this the other day hasn’t been run in 4 years. Washed the dirt off, put a battery in it, turned the key to see if it would turn over and right away it fired, so I pulled the choke and it started, but real heavy smoke, I thought motor was shot. I kept it running and after awhile it stopped smoking and it ran great, even on 4 year old gas.

John,
Mice are notorious for building nests amongst the cooling fins of the engine. Do yourself a favor and "take the hood off".
No need to see your new machine go up in flames or cook the engine due to overheating.

got one here!!! Biggest piece of junk ever built! drive belt wont stay on, motor blew the heads, switches are junk, decks are paper thin and rust out in a flash , do I need to say more??? Also IF you dont put meat eater tires on them,---- might as well leave them parked! They are useless with factory tread tires on them!

Sonny, mowed 4 acres with it the other day and it ran great and did a great job of mowing. My yard is flat, so I don’t have traction problems.

first thing that happens is the switches go out, then the heads blow on the motors. they eat heads like candy and heads are as high as 350 IF you can find them. The 22 hp motor was a joke!!! Main drive belt gets hot and flies off so that was a defect that nobody can find out what causes it other than motor heat traveling down the clutch and out into the belt cause the pulleys are all laser straight.
The decks are paper thin and cant be welded on to patch them. This model was a disaster !!!!!

Ok well I’ll run it till it won’t run no more

thats what I did. cant beat a Simp. 20 with a 48" deck for dependability! --- at least mine have been good for several years now.
I just wanted to try a z and found they are a joke! No faster than a Simp. 20!!lll live and learn!

I also have a 20 hp Sunstar. bought it new in 96. It was parked for 15 years with occasional use when I was using the f cub with a woods 59. Sold the f cub a couple years ago and have been using the Sunstar. Then I got a good deal on this z force. I’ll use it for a back up mower.
