Woods belly mower

My Woods c-2 belly mower needs a new right spindle. I see a new complete unit on line for $206. I really don’t have the equipment to rebuild the old one so is this the way to go by just purchasing the whole assembly and then taking off the old one and bolting on the new?

Thanks.

The good and bad about Woods mowers and I own two. The good is that Woods is still in business and still supports these movers and they cut GREAT. The bad is that parts are a fortunes but that being said the parts are good quality and should last your lifetime. I do recommend regular greasing of these spindles every 25 hours….just one or two shots of grease. I purchased a spindle about 4 years ago and it was around $145.00 so prices are definitely rising.

You can rebuild them HOWEVER you need to set the correct bearing preload tension and if you don’t it will self destruct overtime. I recommend buying the OEM spindle instead of rebuilding them but that is just me.

Looking for a Woods belly mower and found a L59 60" and the question is will it fit a 1966 Lowboy Cub? have seen pictures and it looks complete, but too far to drive to just look. thank You for your help in advance.

Pretty much any mower for a FCub will not directly swap to a Cub LoBoy and fit (and vice versa) without some modifications and/or the brackets etc that are made to fit with the particular tractor. JMHO Stan
EDIT: Also, a L59 mower is probably a different rotation for what a CUB will require. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

For a Cub LoBoy, I was sure that I had saved this.

I custom fabbed my brackets for my modified Bush Hog 412 mower mounted on a 57 LoBoy with FH. muledrive1.jpg

Thank you for the information

So are we saying that the draw bar brackets in Stans picture would have came standard on my 1956 Cub Loboy ? And the ones that I do have in the picture here are home made in order to use a Woods mower? I realize its a LoBoy but the point is barely 5" off the ground, seems kind of close?
