Window film

just something to check, may not apply in your state, here in NY we have a yearly Inspection , car will fail with that on it, factory tint only here
look at summit or Jegs

Mike,
Assuming you are looking to have this done on your home windows, there are lots of options out there. 3M makes the highest quality films. Avoid inexpensive knockoff films.
Do your windows have single pane or insulated glass?
If insulated glass, do they already have a Low ‘E’ coating on the glass?
If they have a Low ‘E’ coating, and the windows are still under warranty, applying a film will typically void the warranty on the insulated glass.
Search “window tinting or film” in your area in the Yellow Pages or on the Web.

Yes it is for my house windows. Temp has been triple diget’s and i was just thinking some of that reflective would help. I do have double pane windows. Peter no they are 45 years old.. just thought I might put some on the west side for PM SUN. Electric bill is only 140.00 a month . Just thought might cut that down a little.

Mike,
Though double pane, not likely to have a Low E coating, so go ahead and give it a try.

I can only dream of a $140 electric bill. Mine for July was $360. 973kwh. One 5,000 BTU window unit, whole house attic fan, a couple ceiling fans, dehumidifier in the basement, well pump, clothes dryer, freezer in the basement, and side-by-side fridge/freezer in the kitchen, along with lights. Connecticut has some of the highest electricity costs in the country, plus the Public Benefit surcharge to pay back the utilities for not shutting off power during Covid to those that decided not to pay their bill. And just last week the utilities got an increase authorized to help pay for the EV Charging infrastructure. I want to know who is going to fill my car with gas!
There are people in CT that have $1,000-1,200 per month electric bills!

I don't use A/C...I have drapes to cover my windows....I close the house up early and close the drapes in the morning....90 plus days can be tough...I have a basement that stays cool....I hide down there if it gets to bad....My avg electric bill is way low....One guy ...small ranch....AVG $62.00 a month
