In the 60s, I remember I used to get a the store raisins that was pressed in a rectangular block. They were soft, moist and chewy. Don’t remember if there was a specific name or brand but I think of them once in awhile. Now you buy raisins in those little cardboard boxes and they are always dried up.

Your description fits muscat raisins. They would have been in a box like above except that the box would have been blue. They are no longer made. The last use I knew for the muscat grape is to make muscatel wine. The grape has very large seeds. I do remember a two pound cellophane package. Today the best bet for me is the cylinder looking package. Don't keep once opened however, dry out quickly.

Drying out is the problem with those little cardboard boxes. When that happens, I put them in oatmeal and the microwave softens them. I have been putting them in a baggie that helps keep them soft.
