Wheel horse

A friend gave me two Wheel Horse tractors. One is a C 165. 8 speed doesn’t run haven’t looked at yet. The other is an older one with a Hh120 techumsea motor. No spark. It also has a sickle bar, I’m assuming it’s a Haban looks to be in good shape. Anyway I can’t find a serial and model number on the older tractor. Anyone know where it could be? I’ve looked on the internet but no luck. John

The older one has no decals haven’t found a I’d tag yet. It has the sickle mower. The c165 has a deck don’t know how wide it is

Sorry I can't see the pictures too good - Wheel Horse went through a few iterations of how they named their tractors, starting with a combination of numbers representing hp, drive, and year, to names, to no names to A,B,C, and D series. A C-165 was a early 80s C-series with a 16 hp engine and could be a 8 speed gear drive or a hydrostatic drive tractor. The Tecumseh engine one is probably from the late 60s to early 70s - it has a name or a model number on the side, we can narrow down the year.

Here is a handy chart for most Wheel Horse models. I would also recommend going to the Red Square Wheel Horse forum and looking around a bit. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/

Hi T mo
I went through the list you sent. I see nothing that matches the hh120 motor which I can’t get spark. It was full of mouse nest and damp. I wonder if it was a replacement motor. The c 165. I took the motor apart and it has a broken rod. I hear this is common for these motors. I have parts on order.
Is there anything special about the sickle mower? It looks like it might fit the c165.

By the looks of that hood it should be around a late 60s model. Cant think of any models around that time that had Tecumseh engines. Look on the hood stand underneath the dash, the model and serial number plate should be up under there.

And as T-Mo said come join us over on RedSquare, great group of guys and hands down the best online resource for anything Wheel Horse related
