This specialty tool came in handy at Shallow Creek this weekend. Can any body guess what it was made for.

Pipe/fuel line bender.

Edit: If that's what it is, I have a plastic one with different sized curves for bending brake lines.

Does the square bar fit into the bolster? (There is little to gauge the size of the "tool".) Or is that angle iron?

Angle iron to clamp into a vise. This was made for Jeff Silvey so I will allow him to give the final answer.

. . . Harbor Freight has a brake line bender for around $10.00.
I have the remains of one from Harbor Freight. It is a total piece of junk. The first time I tried to use it, one of the handles broke off. It is still partly usable by clamping it in a vice. So it is slightly better than not having it at all.

It is this one. Spend your money somewhere else.

Above link is the one I own. Harbor Freight has a brake line bender for around $10.00.
Thanks Eugene !!

Ah! Is it a little bender for the clutch adjustment tool Silvey makes from a wiper blade?

Next guess a bender for the handcranks?

Close but no prize.
What is the prize for this contest?

It turns out that son and I have several tubing benders, some place. We have a heavy duty conduit/pipe bender, haven't seen in years.

Although you could place a fuel line TUBE between the pins and gently do small bends, it'll leave dimples at every bend and look like junk. It'll work ok for smaller flatstock or smaller solid round stock, but I can't recall any factory item you'd make with it. Must be used to make some sort of ADD-ON part or tool.

Remember, I mentioned Jeff Silvey and for good reason. :)

Well, as Gary said, "No Prize".

Well I have been restoring a pedal Fire truck for my grandson. My dad bought this car when my oldest son in 1985. It never got restored till I started on it a year ago. I ordered parts all came in except one piece that was B/O that was December of last year 2018. I tried 2 company's both on B/O.
So setting in the shop I thought I have some rod to see if i can make this part. So I measured the dia they were both the same 3/8. I called the company to cancel the part they lady said why, I said he will be 16 yoa & be driving before I get this pedal car done, she laughed & understood. I saved myself 85.00, I thought it was more but i stand as correct.
So I ask Gary if he would help me make this piece. He said lets go for it sense it was slow on Friday morning. So we started then Gary said we need to make a jig so we can bend this rod. I said copy I know what we need. It took awhile to come up with the stuff but we got all the parts. So we made one. With the support of Denny & Harlan we got it done.
The previous kid rode the day lights out of it to cut the axle into.

The pattern.

The finish project.

Just need to finish.
Thanks

Nice work and the bearings adjust to the angles. I had a pedal car when really young and it was the firetruck. My little sister would ride in back.
