IF it runs and "all works" $200 is on the high side of a fair price given the appearance in the picture, I would make sure that is the case, not a ..."when parked" (why is a gas tank on the seat?). It has wrong (homemade?) fenders; round ones were an option on the 73. (Seat is replacement one) Why is the PTO handle all the way back (looks like they removed the mower belt, is the PTO clutch out?)
Any options like lift or spring assist would be a plus, can't see the back. The 73 is the 4th rarest by production numbers but there seems to be many around here.

What I see in the photo.
Gas tank is sitting on the seat. Mower belt is wrapped around the steering wheel. Starter generator appears to be crooked in the photo. PTO lever is not in place for some reason.
Based upon what I see, the engine does not run. PTO clutch is suspect. And there will be other problems with a 50 or 60 year old machine.
Is this a good buy for $200-, probably not if you are planning on using it. If you have other narrow framed Cub Cadets, it would probably make a good parts tractor for $100-.

Iv not seen it in person, there a boy I work with bough this one and a 71. He fools with pullers but mostly just buys stuff and cuts it up really. First thing I ask him is why the gas tank on the seat, he said it not the one one for this one it goes to the 71. He calmed it was being mowed with two years ago.

I've had way too many Cub Cadets to list, and I can tell you that it's not worth $100 in my book, for all the reasons that Dave and Eugene have listed. It's already been hacked on, fenders are junk in my book, tires are all shot, PTO is not working, looks like it has sat outside for it's whole life. I had someone give me a Cub Cadet 125 that ran (I drove it on the trailer) and had a spare engine with it in a box! Unless you have another narrow frame that you want parts for, or if you just REALLY want to rebuild a 7-hp Cub Cadet, it's scrap metal in my book, so at $100 per ton, and a 700 pound tractor, it's worth about $50.
You have had 3 pretty similar opinions on the value of the 73 Cub Cadet. Talk yourself out of buying this one.
If you are going to purchase a Cub Cadet, get one in working condition. That way you will have fewer unknowns to fix.
Running/work ready Cub Cadets might sell for $500- to $600- in your area. Consider that it costs more than the asking price to repair some components.

Location and how bad you want something can have a factor in the decision... but a few hours drive north may yield a much better value.
I have never paid anywhere close to $500-$600 for a Cub Cadet, but I am cheap and have stumbled on some pretty good deals. This one I got for about the asking price of that 73... a carb kit and a coil from a parts CC and it is a mowing machine, logged many hours over the last year with it an now my son has it. (Bill just might know where I got it :wink: )
I did clean it up and do a little work on the deck.

I hadn't planned on spending that much. Turned out that it was a might as well replace. Last item is that wife wants one of the Cub Cadets to mow the lower area on the acreage. Gotta keep the wife happy, just give her a completely rebuilt lawn mower to drive.

I think I may let this one go. I had a 1200 at on time and loved it I just gave 300 for it and I was mowing with it the day I got it. I been wanting another really like a original cub but a 71,73 type would be as good for what I want. Plus the kid kinda getting smart with me, when I try to talk him down said he just cut it up if it don't bring what he wants. Guess you can't save the all
