What Can Happen If You Attach A Chain Above Your Drawbar?

Has to be AI, unless this guy keeps two camera men and a drone with him at all times just in case he flips his tractor.
Sobering nonetheless.

Here is the complete youtube video:

The flip over incident starts around the 18 minute mark. But at around 5 and a half minutes, he also does something dumb by placing a battery on the gas tank and then begins to intentionally create sparks to show the starting circuit.

Stupid stuff like this always gets the thumbs and the more danger involved the better! There are thousands of guys out there that have NO business being around any equipment! I saw a lot of stuff on Instagram that is not only stupid but dangerous! -- it just gives others ideas of topping sombody elses stupitidy!!!!!

I recently purchased a Super A to use around my property. I've been thinking about this scenario a lot lately. I plan on towing a trailer around for collecting wood. How much does tongue weight impact this? I'd like to get running gear eventually, but will need to use what I have at first.

Tongue weight makes a difference. But if you are fairly reasonable with your trailer/load the difference isn't s big factor. Geometry of the hitch is much more important. As long as you use an original hitch and it is mounted as shown in the Owner's Manual it should be okay. Do not hitch forward of the original drawbar position. Do not hitch at a point higher than the drawbar. Mount the drawbar solidly so that it is unable to move up or down. Use the proper tapered head bolts or nuts to attach it.

It's an aftermarket, or perhaps homemade. It looks like it sticks out a bit further, but is otherwise the same height. What do you mean by "forward the original drawbar"?

I would say it looks homemade but reasonably well done. By forward of the original drawbar I mean: If you had the original drawbar and dropped a plumb line down the center hole to the ground and marked the spot on the floor then did the same with your drawbar, The second mark wouldn't be any closer to the front axle than the first mark. Just eyeballing the picture, it looks like you are okay.

I dont know how many years it has been, but I helped a friend move his mini barn for a new barn build he was doing.

Mini barn (12x12) built on runners.

Hooked on to my drawbar, spin the tires (50hp 4x4 deere 4520 w/ loader)

Unhooked went got a loader bucket of dirt from a pile he had, took top link off, and hooked the strap to where the top link went.

Now my pulling force will put weight on the rear tires (traction) and add lift to the front of the mini barn.

Worked like a charm! Front wheels never left the ground for me.

Gotta be smart about what you do!

Disclaimer;
Dont do what I do unless you take responsibility for your own actions!

That was not a safe thing to do. What would the failure mode have been if the barn still didn't move? Or what would happen if the barn moved part way then happened to hit some obstruction such as a rock or the stump of some small tree or bush?

You could have safely gained some pull if there was room to lower the barn end of the chain.
