Valve spring compressor tool for L head engines

Would someone share their experience and favorite tool for installing the valve spring keepers on L head engines like the C60? I have to get one and I need to be sure that it's a one person job since I don't have any help. Thanks for any information. Stan

Just got through doing a valve job on the C60 engine on a 49 CUB. I used a spring compressor I have had for years that I use on car engines. I did have to use a deepwell socket on top of the valve and adjust the tool almost to the limit to make it work.
