TRIM ALL Edger

I'm looking for a parts list for this edger, made by K&S, Model KS122A, probably dates from the 60's. Powered by 2hp B&S engine, belt drive. I have to replace the blade shaft, it's approx 6 3/4 inches long overall and made from 1/2 inch stock turned down to 3/8 on each end. The only part I can find is 5 1/2 inches overall length. I've searched the internet but only found the shaft bushings. Thanks for any leads. Stan

This pic shows the difference in the OEM shaft and the available replacement--1.25 inches in the middle. (Dimensions taken from the old shaft.) edgershaft.jpg

The "farmer fix" for the obsolete parts problem was to change the shaft size to a 1/2" bolt long enough to reach through the housing (I added about 5/8" of additional threads). I replaced the worn out bronze bearings with stock 3/4"x1/2" bearings, which fit perfectly. Also changed the OEM sheave with one the same OD size, 1/2" bore. A couple of jamb nuts and tapping the 3/8" hole blade to 1/2" NC thread to screw it on the new shaft completed the revised assembly, works good and cost about $12 for parts.

An Update on my TRIM ALL Model 122A edger. Been in storage for a while and needed to use it to restore the trimmed edge to the driveway. No spark when checking the status so cleaning the flywheel/mag and a points & condenser tuneup fixed that. Replaced the worn out blade with a new OEM 9 inch OREGON. Fresh fuel, cleaned spark plug and replaced the foam air filter with a new OEM B&S 27987S filter, set the choke closed and started up on the 3rd pull of the recoil starter. Close to 50 years old and still doing the job like it was designed to do. ;) Stan
