tractor split

So I need to split my 53 Cub so I can do clutch work.
How much of a pain is this going to be?
Is there a book of procedures somewhere I can get to help in my project?

All the books you need are on this site, Top left hand corner. Be sure to wedge the front axle (do a search top right corner.
Good luck and have fun with your new cub.

its not that hard, if the hood has not been off in a long time trying not to break the old frozen screws is the worse part on the hood

It's not that hard. Read up on suggestions.

Well equiped shop and experienced Cub mechanic working alone, 1 to 1/2 hours to split the tractor. Repair the clutch and back together, 4 hours.

At a Cub Fest, a lot of hands, we replaced 3 or 4 clutches before lunch time.

Thanks for the help. I had no idea the books were on here, that was great to see. I already downloaded the section on splitting.
I've had this tractor for a few years now (It came with the house) I've done some work on it and it runs good now not great.
This is a project for me, I'm not working it as of now
Thanks again for the help

Don't be intimidated by it...I have seen fancy stands and some people use a trailer jack or a cherry picker. Take your time, research it and make a plan.

Wedge the front bolster!

I can almost guarantee it'll be worth the drive! You'll meet some fine knowledgeable cub enthusiasts, learn a lot from your project, as well as others'!

I’ll be having a Cubfest in Oxford NY the first of October we are always looking for something to work on.

For routine maintenance parts, like plugs, points, condenser, filters, fluids, your local auto parts store can probably be the best choice. Especially, if it’s NAPA or an independent. Forget the big box auto stores.

I split my Loboy today start to finish split time 1 hour 45 minutes it was made easy because it’s been apart previously and all my fasteners were free from rust .
