Tractor guys used parts.

they have a lot of parts, also new dealerships, they are probably known best for the auctions they run, buying used parts from them is not easy I have found, seems like they do not like to be bothered and do not return calls

Im looking for parts myself for a 49 cub i just got , but unfortunately while the cub sat in a barn in a abandoned lot , someone came a stole the carb, starter , battery box, drawbar, rear light and bracket, tool box, starter on/off switch , rock shaft or rock arm, front wheel weights, ( guess they could not carry the tears since only one was taken off and was laying there , , im finding theses parts used are hard to find, if any one could point me to a place where I could get 1 or all of the parts listed, if greatly appreciate it

Starter switch - auto parts store - inexpensive compared to other parts. Carburetor, expensive, site advertisers or The Vine.

Before you ordered any parts, conduct compression tests. Compression test results satisfactory, carburetor.

If the tractor has a magneto, hand crank, see if magneto works.

You may find out that the tractor is not worth the expense to bring it up to working condition.

Moss1980, if the tractor is sentimental to you, you may be better off getting looking for a parts tractor from the 40s or early 50 that has most of what you need. Getting the parts you are looking for retail will be expensive, close to if not more than a running '49.

If the tractor is not sentimental it may be a parts tractors at this point and you buy something else.

Any tractor is worth saving, like any hobby I have hunting for parts is the best part. Try finding parts for my vintage Husqvarna dirtbikes. The internet has opened up a flow of parts for every hobby. If your willing to spend the cash.

They don't strike me as much of a "mail order" place, more of a "Pik-A-Part" style place, where you go in with your own tools and harvest the parts yourself. Maybe I'm off on this, but either way unless you can go in person you probably won't get much attention.

Some of you have indicated you need some parts. I can,t seem to find the tag to post on the vine but do have an item that has been mentioned. If you will pm me I’ lobe happy to work with you .

JP Tractor Salvage has all the used parts one would want. I wanted another hydraulic set up and my neighbor told me to call John Hargis at JP. Shipping and the hydraulic set up were very reasonable. I just saw a post of Facebook where he listed that he had 30 draw bars with brackets for sale. 90 plus shipping. Super nice people to deal with and a site sponsor!!!

I'll second JP Tractor Salvage. I have been to their place several times and they have a lot of stuff there. Rear wheel weights $60 a set, but I would think shipping would be quite high on those.
