Touch Control Rebuild Thread Search

I have one of my touch controls disassembled and am ready to rebuild it. Back when I started the project I found a great thread that was very detailed and had pictures of both touch control units and the differences when rebuilding. There was info and pics in the thread that the service manuals don't have unless it came from service bulletins that I don't have. I have searched every touch control thread and haven't located it. If anyone has any idea I would appreciate it. Whoever the author was did a great job with explaining he process. TIA.

I think maybe Dale posted a link to what he called an excellent tutorial on this forum but the link doesn't work any longer.

I think I found the documents Dale linked in the resource library. Sorry for the ring. I would still like to see that rebuild thread if anyone knows where it is.

The rebuild "HOW TO" is actually for a Cub, and Dale Finch is a very talented and knowlegable female. Stan
EDIT: And also a retired commercial airline pilot!

Aw shucks!!! 🫣

Just want to point out that there are two different HOW TO procedures based on the touch control block number. The procedure posted above is for the later blocks, and this is for the earlier block:

Be sure you have the correct rebuild kit for YOUR block number...TM Tractors has both kits:

Everyone keep in mind that, as Stan pointed out, all this information about how-tos, block numbers etc. applies to Cubs. Since this is posted in the A . . . 140 forum and the only model I've noted workinonit mentioning is a 140, all the posts here are only useful for general background information. There are probably some 140 Touch-Control specifics in the resources. I have not gone looking there to see.

OOPS!!
That's one of my disappointments about our new format... didn't the old one repeat the TITLE on each post? I forget to scroll back to the top of a post to confirm the subject! Guess I'm also lazy!

Sorry!

Yea, mine are all late model140s and I am aware the info is all cub info but it is applicable and very helpful. Hopefully the weather today will allow me to get the head gasket issue sorted out so that I can get back on that touch control tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for the help.

This fellow in Maine does a lot of work on old Farmalls and rebuilt the touch control on a Super C not too long ago. He did a 4 part video series of the teardown and rebuild. Super C and Super A touch control units are pretty close. Here is a link to the first video. Hope it’s helpful to you.
