Touch Control hydraulic pump o ring questions

Jeremy, you need to go one step further on your picture to get it to post. If you click on the picture at your bottom link, it will open up. You need to copy and paste that address between the image brackets. One thing to remember is that for an image tag to work, the address between the tags must end with a file extension such as jpg or gif.

As far as using JB weld - I don't think it will hold up in this application. If money is tight, I'd suggest taking the line assembly to someone local who does heating and ventilation work. Odds are they will silver solder it for you for less than what a tube of JB weld costs.

Jeremy:

I apologize for using the acronym, HVAC---should have spelled out Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.

I had previously posted a hydraulic fluid leak (my '49 Cub) on the forum and responses were to check to see if one of the tubes going into the manifold had come undone. If so, have it silver soldered.

I substitute teach at a nearby Technical Center and one of the vocations taught is HVAC. So, I asked one of the instructors if he would silver solder the tube/manifold for me. He used an acetylene torch for the heat source and silver solder. When hot, the joint "sucks" the solder into the joint not unlike when a plumber uses solder for joints on copper tubing.

The procedure took less than five minutes. Hope this helps.

Looks like it may have been brazed already, tho I have seen some silver solder alloys that have a golden color.

I doubt the JB would hold long, if at all.

You could probably take it by a air conditioning/refrigeration repair shop, or even a radiator repair shop. Either should have the proper equipment to fix it right. Anybody that works on air conditoners or refrigeration equipment, would more than likely have the proper equipment. And they probably wouldn't charge much to do so either. A few welding shops will occasional silver solder. Just some ideas to try.

Well, I guess I will take a drive tomorrow and see who I can find to help me out. I will check out the yellow pages tonight and hopefully have good news to post tomorrow.

Thanks guys!

Bigdog, that's just the explaination I needed. Just to prove I understand, here's a picture from 2 weeks ago. My daughter is pointing at the cub thinking something along the lines of "here we go again"

She loves driving the tractor! Almost as much as I love working on it! :D

Jeremy, Hope you get the tube silver soldered it will fix it. Mine had a crack in the same place and a neighbor that has a machine shop fixed it for free, took about 45 seconds!

BigDog I think we need a Kid's and Cub's album in the phto page to post all these great photos....Lildog there might be a contest lurking in there somewhere  Something to ponder.

Kodiak - I created a Kids & Cubs album on the photo host site. It is in the City and Rural Life section. Now we need to start filling it up!

Thanks BigDog,
I know I have some and so does Cowboy as well as Jeremy!
Ok guys let's get those pictures in that album :!:
