I have been playing around with new Super A the last few afternoons and have taken care of little issues with the mower like putting new, straight blades on it. I can't decide whether to sell the belly mower or just take it off and put it away until I decide what to do with it. I don't really think I will use it, as I have a Scag zero turn mower (it is a Tiger CUB, what else?). I don't know what kind of belly mower I've got but it does a pretty nice job. The only possible use I may have for it is if and when I get my back woods cleared out enough to make the campsite I've been wanting. I could use the mower then to mow the 3 or 4 acres that would be cleared. On the other hand, money is always tight and I could use a few extra bucks to spend on several of my tractors. Opinions? Ideas?

Selling it is pretty much irreversible. Unless I needed the $ real bad, I would wait until I was SURE I didn't want it. And if you keep it, you can always sell it sometime later. My $0.02. :)
 
It is fairly difficult to find good used mowers for the Super A, and new ones are about $1700. If it were me, and I thought that I might EVER use it, I would store it. Your idea about using it for the back 40 area is a really good one.

I know from experience, that I NEVER use my nice lawn mower for areas that are rough or former brush/woods, because there is always something hidden that will really tear into the newer mowers. The new mowers, even the commercial ones will not take a beating, and if you screw them up, your whole lawn will show it. The old Woods mower on your Super A will take some serious abuse, and if you tear it up, you can beat it out, weld on it, etc., without breaking your hear that you are beating on your new $7000 zero turn mower.

I'd keep it!!!Like Bill said it will take a beating where as the newer stuff won't.Get it up off the ground and store it!!!!Kevin
 
In the past week, I have replaced the blades on the deck, leveled it from side to side, and raised the rear slightly higher than the front. After mowing with it, I have decided I have to keep the deck. My wife thought I had used the Scag to mow with when she got home - the Woods really did a good job. I still don't think I will use it much, but I will keep it, put it in the barn on a pallet, and I will have it. I should probably take some pictures first of how it is mounted and how the belt's routed. Thanks for your help.
