The Cub from Argentina (Clutch info needed)

I've never seen a TOB bearing like that.
Me either.

In you last picture, of the throw out bearing, the thicker/wider portion of the carbon goes toward the pressure plate fingers, the front of the tractor.

Edit: The IH throw out bearings have a solid interior and a grease zerk. The throw out bearing is greased with cheap grease. I don't see any way that this bearing could be greased.

Thank you Raymond for the spring, i got it! i didn't install it yet.
One more question about the TOB, i guess the two small springs in the old tob where for holding the bearing to avoid the contact between the shaft and the bearing, how the new one is hold so it won't touch the main shaft, because it look like it will spin a little toward the clutch when the clutch is disengage. i just don't know how it works....
Thank you!

Eugene a good way to grease the bearing when you want to be sure that it won't brake because a lack of grease. Is to use a small metal can or old pot and put a small quantity of bearing grease, as much as the bearing height, and warm it up till is very liquid, then soak up the bearing for half an hour.. a lot of grease will get in and when the grease get cold the density will be as regular grease again..

There should be no springs in there. They were probably added by a previous owner for some reason. Just like you have it in the photo, with the exception of the missing bolt and nut, is how it is installed. Be sure to report back on the operation and reliability of the TOB and your source. It's not the usual replacement thats available here.
Glad you got the bumper spring! I'm sure you'll put it to good use! :D

Hello again, have been some time but i still keep working to have the Cub finish.
I have some pictures to show you (one picture is better than words some times)
I installed the Engine and the front axle already! look very good. Had some trouble to put the shaft in the engine thru the clutch, i had no alignment tool, so i used my eyesight :).

Clear coat of the background, is has a lot of cracks and wears but it gives a look of the real age of the tractor (61 years)

Hello! finally i bought a set of two rear tyres 8.3-24, i had lucky to find them, because is a very rare size in Argentina..
When i clean up the tubes that i already had on the old tyres, i found the label of: good year made in usa - 8 x 24. i think that those tubes are the original ones that came with the tractor from USA, what you think?

Here are some pictures of the work:

Probably true. That size marking hasn't been used since about 1960.

Hi everyone! There is a video about the tractor right now..
I have been most of the time in the university, so not much time to work on the tractor, only wiring is needed to get it done!
I would like to know if some one has a spare battery box to sell or to donate? i do not have one, and it wont be cheap and easy to build one in Argentina.

In the video the oil gauge is not showing pressure in the first seconds, it has like a delay to start showing good pressure.. but it runs really good!!
I cant wait to run the tractor over the field!

You can download complete pdf manuals in the (New) Manuals section above. If you need any of the split to make smaller file sizes, let me know.

Rough translation from Google translate: how nice tractor and sounds good, old carts in photos that brand is wool? Where is our Spanish interpreters?

Hello people from the forum! It has been a while since my last post.
New activities and university kept me quite busy doind other things, and the Cub was in a state that for me was hard to continue restoring it.

One day i just decide to spend 2 full days on it, also decided to do the electrical wiring my self, i had no idea how to do one, but after all was not so hard to do.
The results where excellent, because the tractor is almost ready, and i finished the most hard thing in those days, now the only things to do are very pleasant and nice to do!

Did some nice rides in my farm, ride very nice! and the engine runs like new.. very happy to know that i have a tractor ready to work, as soon i import a grass mower.

Things lefft to do are:
- decals
- light switch (i lost the original one that was like new :( )
- buy a new battery box
- change the hydraulic pump oring because is leaking hyd fuid to engine, i dont know why because i did the rebuild..
- check all fluids and change oil again.
-polish all the tractor and the emblems.
-resize exhaust tube
- ride 6km to the gas station to fill the gas tank :{_}:

Here are some pictures of the tractor.
Thank you very much for all the help i got from the forum, there was no way of doing it without the information i got from all of you, even some parts where sent to me for free.

One more cub is ready for another story.
