501 Club
Bigdog and I went to an auction yesterday near Circleville. They had more than 20 tractors, most of them nicely restored, plus a bunch of interesting odds and ends. There were a couple of Cubs there along with some implements and assorted parts.
I ended up buying a 1953 Farmall Super A. Naturally, we didn’t bring a trailer — Bigdog’s needs a new wheel bearing, and my cousin Mark’s trailer was at his sister’s place loaded with lumber and steel. Luckily, a former coworker I worked with for 37 lives nearby, and his trailer was free. He ran over, picked it up, and brought our new goodies home.
The tractor is mechanically sound, and runs like a top. A Super A has been on my bucket list for sometime now.
