Last year I used the Cub to till up a stripe and planted two 150' rows of sunflowers out at the edge of the front yard along the highway. People liked them enough that I did it again this year. We haven't had any appreciable rain here in six weeks (the lawn is crispy), but I've been using my water tank trailer to give the sunflowers a drink every few days. It's a pain, but here is the result.

Turkey and other birds attractant.
Harvested giant sunflower seeds from sons' garden. Following year I planted the giant sunflower and other sunflower seed in a portion of the deer food plot.
Sunflowers did great on the food plot. That fall birds scratched the ground bare under the sunflowers looking for seeds.
Have a flock of turkeys that roost above the cliff on the east side of the property. Never did go turkey hunting.

I live in Ohio but have 80 acres in Wisconsin and every now and then somebody plants an entire field of them to harvest for birdseed. My neighbor planted 30 acres of them last year, as an experimental crop, which was fun to see. Not sure how he came out money wise. I saw an article online a month ago about some farm in the NE that estimated, if I remember it correctly, 7000 people coming over 1 weekend and to look and take pictures and it got to the point that they had to block access. I’ve loved them since I was a kid but at my unattended Wisconsin place something ate the leaves off and left stalks when they reached about 4’. Must have been a deer.
