Spark Plugs

Looks like the spark plugs are the same for the Cub as the Super A and a bunch of other tractors - ?AutoLite 3116 or Champion D15Y?

Autolite 3116 work equally well and cost much less but the metal base is not corrosion resistant like the Champions.

according to the local auto parts store where I get tune up items, cub, A, B, C, H, M, as well as the Super version of them all used the same plugs. and I have seen cubs with the Autolites in them that were severly rusted. in a short time.
 
I would suggest a hotter plug than the 15 unless the engine is in perfect condition and you intend to work it hard. 16's have worked well for me, if it's a smoker you may want 18's.
 
D15, 16, 18, or 21...

Considering this is a hard smoker, I'm assuming the higher number is better? The Champion site recommends the D18Y, with the Y denoting an extended base, I think...

I'm going in a few hours to buy the plugs - can we get a concensus? :D

Allen,
I have used both but champs are easer to find it seems.
I would go with D21 as John suggested.
PS: when you get it all fixed up you will want new plug again.
 
As it turns out, the highest they had was D18's, so I picked up 4 for now and I will switch them over once I get the darn thing started and running.
