SOLD.....For Sale: Swisher Pull-behind Mower

Dale Finch

501 Club
My sisters and I use my 5 cubs primarily for mowing our 20-acre farm (about 10 acres of pasture/fields), so quite a while ago I thought a pull-behind mower would really cut down the time for mowing by adding an extra 42+ inches of cutting swath! However, the good ones are very expensive, so I have stuck with my Woods 42's and 59's.

Then I saw an ad on Facebook Marketplace and decided to try it. There was no way to test it before purchase, but my thinking was that even if I needed to rebuild/replace the engine, the price was right. The deck is very solid, and it looks complete. But now I realize I have too many projects, and with 5 cubs to maintain, I decided to sell it. Besides, what's a few extra hours of seat time, anyway?!! 😉

When I got it home, I found the engine is apparently frozen, though I have not tried to free it up or make any other checks. I also saw the fuel tank looks like a critter chewed the corner off it! The mower spindle does turn freely.
You guys probably know a lot more about this beast than I, so feel free to point out any observations you have. As of now, I plan to attend the LA Cubfest in March as well as the Barnyard Bash in May, and I could deliver it then, if paid for in advance (or at least a deposit to make it worth loading and hauling!).

These are the photos I have taken, but feel free to ask for more:

The tanks are standard. Cub does not burn much more per hour. The mowers pull very easily. The time to cut to a pasture height (~6") was reduced by two-thirds. So I think the net effect is fuel savings even with 3 engines running.
