Can someone tell me what to look for (models numbers, etc.) in a snow blade that will fit my 1282 CC? I want to be ready for winter this year.

Any of the snow blades for a "wide frame" cadet will work. You can see in mine below, the big difference in the wide frame mounting is that the ears spread out to go around the frame. The blades for a "narrow frame" cadet have mounting points that go straight up from the hanger subframe, and it's pretty obvious when you see them. Also, the wide-frame subframes have an arch in the part that goes back under the engine to the rear mounting points, where the narrow frame subframes are just straight metal back to the rear mounting points
I wish I was closer, as I really don't need the one I have. It's fun to play with but just not really suited for the kind of snow that we get here in Buffalo. Having said that, I did plow a path about 900-feet through my yard out to the ice skating pond last winter, in about 10-inches of fresh powder. It worked great, as long as I kept moving. About 1/2 way out I threw a chain off one of the tires, and had to limp back to the garage to re-mount it. But once back on, she plowed all the way out with no problems.

We get our share of snow here in the Cleveland area snow belt! A well suited IH Cub Cadet will push mountains of snow, as good as the bigg'ans can! I pushed for 7 years with a 7hp well suited model 71 IH Cub Cadet. Light footed, and don't pile the gravel, nor push big wads of sod!
