Sickle Mower Drag Bar

I got my sickle bar setup and working this morning, it cuts but makes a racket. The pitman is not lined up straight with the bar. I know the sickle bar is supposed to have some "lead" to it while sitting so it will be straight when mowing. How do I pull it ahead more? The drag bar is a set length. It appears to have been welded so I am not sure if they made it longer or not. Other than that, the clackity clack is great! 8)

The square part that goes into the front "socket" under the radiator can be moved in and out to change the lead- and the pitman alignment. The operator's manual for the mower covers this adjustment.

I believe that the angle of the cutter bar is controlled by placement of the drag bar support. Push the bar support all of the way in and the cutter bar angles back. Pulling the drag bar support outward should pull the cutter bar forward. Give that a try and see if it works for you. Dan

I take it from last night you got the pitman arm on OK?Yes there is an adjustment there. If you are getting the clickty clack your getting there.PS email me if ya need help Kevin 8) 8) 8) 8)

Nik try to get the outside edge about 1 inch ahead of the inside at rest.
If it still makes a fuss look elsewhere for the problem
