Hello to all, new to this site. I have owned a 47 cub for over 40 years used for mowing yard with 5 ft belly mower until last couple years. Now would like to find sickle mower for cutting lakeshore and road sides. Is there a sickle mower that will work on this model as is first year built and no hydraulic?

Hi,
Below are pictures from TM Tractor Parts of a Cub 22 Mower on a Cub. You can see if the mower you want to buy is complete.

Below is the 22 Mower operator's manual. It is for 3 different models of mowers, for 3 different models of IH Tractors. Some of the info is for all 3 mowers.

The manual has lots of info, and shows how to put the mower on the Cub.
You may not be able to get to the manuals until you make more posts.
The Cub 22 Mower works with Touch Control, or manual lift. You have to have the front rockshaft for the manual lift.
Some years of the mowers are held onto the clutch housing and left final drive using the IH tapered head bolts, like the drawbar uses. The mowers shake, and need the tapered head bolts to keep them from coming loose.
The rear brackets were changed some over the years, it may have 1 bolt to hold it on, or 2 bolts.
If the mower has tapered areas around the bolt holes, it should have the tapered bolts to hold it on.
Below are listings at TM Tractor Parts for the tapered head bolts. You can look at the pictures.

The newer rear bracket has 2 bolt holes, and a spacer welded on at the upper hole, so the mower can be used with the drawbar in place.
The rear may need the longer lower bolt, if the bracket is made to be used with the drawbar in place.

The bracket at the front, at the square hole, should have a set screw under the housing, to hold the bracket in place. The setscrew has a bolt head. It should have a lock nut on it also.

Check the bolts often during use, and keep them tight.

The mower drive pulley looks like in the listing below, from TM Tractor Parts.
There is also a 4" pulley, used beginning in 1955.
The pulley groove goes to the rear on the regular Cub.
Clean the splines well before putting the pulley on.
The small hole is for a cotter key, the cotter key goes all the way through the pulley and PTO shaft.
The larger hole is for a 3/8" bolt, lock washer and nut. Tighten the bolt tight, so the pulley is tight on the shaft, or the splines will wear if the pulley is loose during use.
