This guy was great. He and his brother ran a implement biz a number of years ago and he got into Cubs then. He had seven at one time. Still had five there today. A w&y flat face loboy, two '54-56 and two late '40 cubs. Plus two rusty AC G's.
He was telling me stories of how they used to unload the Cubs from rail cars right into the back of waiting customers pickups.
It will be hard for me to wait,
but it is best. I am having a barn built this spring. So if I got the cub right now either it or my "other" kub (Kubota) would have to be parked under the deck! (Although I did put down some gravel under the deck this fall just incase... hmmm.)

More '55 envy for me.
I have been hooked solid on the Cub, especially the '55.
Ever since I saw George Tackaberry's (Tack's Toys) '55 Loboy at the Athens Ontario Red Roundup in 2002.
Shopp'n, that's some mighty fine shopp'n for sure.
Some day, sooommmmeee day, I'll get my '55 too.
Almost bought a '56 Loboy last year, but $3600Cdn. plus hauling was enough to stop that one.
For me, it's mostly the smooth lines, compact size, and inner bigness.
Enjoy.

I agree with many of the posts about the '55. I just love that chrome!
This one has the draw bar and back light. He said the rear light is one that you can turn red? I guess I have not heard of that before, is there a red lens or something inside the light? He said you just turn the knob on top.
Thanks for all the comments. It IS going to be hard to wait. But the shed they are in is not heated and about 5 mile away from this guys shop. Not sure how I would go about thawing out the Cub well enough to get it started and up on the trailer. He is about 90 miles away from me. If you guy's have any suggestion...
The blade would not be too bad to get off the ground/ice/snow. A good torch and pry bar would make fairly quick work of it I would think.
SEE now therr I go listen'n to you guys... it's been less than 12 hours! How the hell am I going to last tell April!! :evil: :wink: :lol:

Pull the 3 pins that attach the blade to the frame, and winch the cub onto the trailer, that way you can get it started at your leisure.
Isn't that a coincidence.... I have a '55 (hydraulic) and a '48 (hand operated). If you can see on my Avatar, I'm on the '55 and my wife is on the '48 (she knows nothing about this picture as my avatar). Oh... she's also a 1948 model (now I'm really in trouble!!)
I think you'll be taking a few 1 1/2 hour drives before April. Especially on the Feb & Mar warm up days. And we know you will figure something out to get that puppy home sooner than April! And remember, you can mount that blade either in front as a snow plow or under the belly as a grader. See Rudi's web page for info.

:lol: The excitement in the air"" You done yourself Good Shopp'n---------- I'm glad to see you have gotten such a fine machine. The one in Prinston that I E-mailed you about whent for 2150. It was about a 50 w/a woods mower. It was nice but no where near as nice as what you got and them 55 were a great year in every thing. If you need any help getting it just give me a call, were not that far appart. "Jack"
