Security cameras.

I have a set of Arlo cameras that will automatically record to a micro SD card on the base station if they are triggered. No subscription is necessary.

I don't like paying subscription services.

We have two systems, one at acreage and the other at fixer upper house. Each system: couple of cameras, small video screen, and records events when system is tripped. Less than $200- per system.

I like the Arlo cameras, but I believe you have to run electric to them.

Eufy has a wide range of cameras, some that are solar powered. They do need wifi, but they do not need a subscription service.

This is the kit I bought: https://www.eufy.com/products/t88721w1?variant=41871186919610 but I had my own harddrive to add. You can get it equipped with a drive already. They are not cheap at about $770 but there is a $240 coupon.

Using the app on my phone I can view the recorded events or live action from around the world.

Since mine are more for watching animals than security, I turned off most notifications because the squirrels are triggering them all day long.

I have solar panels on all four of mine that are doing great at keeping them fully charged.

I have 4 blink cameras around the house. They use 2 lithium batteries that last about a year. No subscription needed as I don't store anything in their cloud. WIFI is required of course.
An App on your phone lets you watch the videos and you can download any you want to keep. I have one camera mounted to a tree about 50 feet from the house. We love watching the deer/raccoons/squirrels etc. at the feeder.

Today, letter from local home insurance company agent. Home insurance is going up $900-.

Could save $125- by installing a security system that communicates with my cell phone. That's probably a standard insurance company policy because our house is about 150 feet from the Sheriff's office and the State Highway Patrol's substation.

Wife's and my cell phone are go phones. Very limited capabilities. Have to discuss the cost of new cell phones and a security system with son to see if the reduced insurance price would be cost effective.

I have Arlo cameras as well as Blink. The Arlos run for months on rechargeable batteries and send you an alert with video (without a subscription)

The Blinks I have are a lot cheaper, need to be plugged in, can be accessed remotely (as can the Arlo), sends an alert, but does not store a video unless you have a subscription. (I prefer the Arlos)
