I'm about to build Rudi's sandblaster but also thinking about purchasing Harbor Frieghts sandblaster cabinet. It's on a stand and sells for $299.
Have any of you had any experience with the HF blaster :?:
I have HF pot blaster and a bench cabinet blaster. They both work good but the bench cabinet blaster leaves traces of glass media on outside work area. I dont know if it needs a better door seal design or if thats just the nature of those cabinet blasters. Glass beads are pretty fine grit resembling granulated sugar in size and looks. I did my manifold with the bead blaster and it came out super clean. I haven`t used either blaster in about 2-years now. I mostly use the electrolysis cleaning method now as its easier.
Thanks for that info. I use the electoysis as well but thought I'd try to blaster, too. I sell parts on ebay and I like to clean them up before selling.
I appreciate your comments on the glass media. That was my next question....that is, what is the best media for the job. Have you tried the other medias?

I haven`t tried any other media except glass in the cabinet. I dont use it enough to experiment with other medias and the glass does good for my needs. In my pot blaster I use bagged sand from the building supply store. I forget the number size but it says washed on the bag for sandblasting.
