Safe from flooding??!

Reaching out to see how our Eastern North Carolina folks are doing with this rain coming down - almost 18" they say in some areas!

News reports show massive flooding along the coast. Hope all are safe & sound!

It rained a lot. About like the tropical storm back in August. We got around 11" in that. I took my gauge down the other day to mow and forgot to put it back up so I don't know what we got yesterday. I understand the area around Wilmington really got hammered. 20+ inches in a lot of places. Two hour delay for school this morning, it was nice to wake up at a sensible hour instead of the usual 4:30 AM......

It would have been nice if we could have gotten some of this in June/July when everything was burning the up.

Still extremely dry here. Doesn’t look like we’ll get much out of this one, either.

dry here, supposed to get showers tomorow night and Thursday. I'll seed my winter rye tomorrow, and hope it gets enough moisture to grow.

My crimson clover has been seeded for two weeks, but no rain.

Sometimes, MUDder nature doesn't cooperate. Mud here all summer, a foot over the normal summer rainfall. About 3 weeks of no rain in late August/September!.

This has been the hottest, driest Summer in my memory. I hope this was a one-off.
