Rotation for Mower Blades

I have a C59 Woods Mower for my regular cub. I am confused as to whether I have a LH or RH blade. This is what I have. Looking down from the seat the blades turn clockwise and of course looking up from the bottom they turn CCW. The mounting bolt is a LH thread. I am looking for a set of Hi Lift blades and not sure what I need. The Woods p/n that is on it now is 6950.

The blades on my ZTR turn CCW from the bottom, and have a right hand thread. I believe that is so that the force of the blade hitting grass, sticks, etc. tightens the bolt rather than loosening it.

I believe whether blades are called right hand or left had is which side of the deck it discharges from when looking down on it from the tractor. Right hand discharge equals right hand blade.
 
Right handed blades and mowers will discharge to the right side, the blade will turn clockwise when sitting on the tractor. The front of the blade will hit the on coming grass first and since the blade is turning clockwise the cut grass will be blown to the right side.

A right handed mower will have right handed blade bolts/screws.

If you have left handed bolts then you may not have a cub mower but another woods mower with left handed spindles that someone put on right handed blades. Either way, if you have left handed spindles then I would use nylon locking screws/nuts so they do not come out.
 
Thanks to all. This mower came with my yellow 74' and I have always suspected that it was adapted to fit this cub. But, it cuts just fine and I have had no problems with it for about 5 years. The left hand threads on the bolt has never been a problem for a loose blade.
Although my blades are in good shape and have good life still left in them, I wanted to try some hi-lift blades. Had no luck with the local coop, Woods dealers etc. for finding this blade. It's almost like no hi-lift is offered for this deck. I hesitate to order one on-line without comparing it to my old blade.

I'll keep looking.

I got my blades from my dealer who is 3rd generation,my dad bought our first cub from them in 60 or 61. Anyway the counterman who has since retired told me when I went in for a set 3ish years ago that Woods did not make high lift blades for those anymore. Not sure if he told me why or if he even knew. If you find any please post.
 
The others are right about the rotation, discharge, and threads. I suspect the reason you can't find high lift blades is the same reason I can't find any for my 48" CC 149 deck, the decks aren't tall enough. I put a set of Gator blades (which chops up the grass pretty well) on a Husqvarna with a commercial deck and they really pack the clippings into the deck, so much so that I have to scrape it out after every mowing or it leaves trails of uncut grass (I suspect that may be a Gator blade related issue). The Woods 59 on my Cub and the 48" on my CC don't spin near as fast as the newer mowers which, in conjunction with the short deck, could be why they wouldn't allow a high lift or Gator blade to work well.
 
Mine is plain 59 with right hand discharge with 6950 blades. Right hand threads. I got my blades from eBay. 35 dollars or so shipped to me. Easy to find. I want some high lift blades but can't find em
 
I bought a set from Napa, they were regular low lift blades with a price of steel welded to them to make them hi lift. Don’t know if they are still available but you can call napa
