AKA Caster Bean. These are about 7’ tall. Kind of a fun plant to grow. As you probably know, the poison ricin comes from the beans, but I’ve read the shell is so hard if you swallowed one whole it would be expelled whole. I don’t intend to test that out.
These are a red version with crimson leaves and red flowers. Prettier than the green ones.

We had the green ones in west central Iowa. Weeds big time when I was young. They would take over the area between the corn crib, barn, and back to the creek.

I have a few volunteers here that I leave each year. Everybody thinks its red mary jane. ---- they have to be controlled but are kinda neat.

Here in Tennessee we call it Mole Beans.
People here say that it keeps the moles away.
I don't know if it works or not.
