Board shortener Tom

I recently picked up a small Yale electric forklift. Of course it has a bad battery and my plan is to keep the box that the cells are in and use 6 volt golf cart batteries in it. It's not something I will use often or for any length of time so I don't need the original style battery. My question is: So any of you have suggestions on how to get the old cells out of the case? I've clamped a hi lift jack above the roll cage and tried to free a few different cells up by using a ratchet strap under the lead bars that connect the cells to but the bars keep popping off at the solder joints of the cell posts. I'm considering running a lag bolt into the 2 posts on each to see if those will hold. I have lubed around the cells I have tried to pull already.
Thanks everyone!
