Red Power Roundup 2018

(Moderators is this worth being a sticky?)

Red Power Roundup 2018 is in Montgomery, AL: http://www.rpru2018.com/home.html

Their feature is the culti-vision tractors. Including the Cub.

Here is a link to a special project "Nebraska Cowman" is putting together, over on the Red Power forum. I hope he'll come over here and provide more details, but this is worth following: http://www.redpowermagazine.com/forums/ ... l-display/

I'm thinking a trip to Bama is in order next summer.....

Al

You're both right. The featured tractors are IH offset, the special exhibits are cotton pickers and cotton equipment.

I wish I could go, but a bit too far. Maybe when I'm retired, I can go to some of these events that requires some traveling.

Ok. Let's do this. Randy and I want to put together a Cub Circus where a "trainer" puts a few special Cubs through their paces, climbing ramps, driving through obstacles, hooking and unhooking to implements. We would present a short program, hopefully set to music, in front of a grandstand once or twice daily. Randy has a life size Cubby Bear cutout. I am not sure if I will be there and hope to find someone who would be the circus trainer to hold the attention of the crowd and keep things moving. This could be a lot of fun. I found some pictures of IH doing this with Cub Cadets using the Tiger Cub theme and since we are featuring offsets at Montgomery we can do the same thing using the Bear Cub theme with Cubs. Randy has a roofed pavilion with bleacher seating that should work well.

Just to be clear, those old Fair pics on the RedPower site are Cub CADETS (look to be hydros).

Didn't see anywhere in this thread the reference to CADETS, just Cubs. So, to do the same type of Fair show, you'd want to be using Cub Cadets, not full-size Farmall Cubs. I don't remember ever seeing IH use the Cubby Bear to promote the IH Cub Cadet, but could be wrong.

Just want to make sure we are comparing apples to apples... :)

Yes Stanton, we will do the event with Cubs. The pictures are just for reference and to get your idea juices flowing. The feature of the 2018 RPRU is offset tractors and the Cub is the smallest of the offsets.

I would love to go to that, but distance, finances, and my back all say no. If I mentioned that we were going to an event where cotton was the special attraction my wife would kill me. She was raised chopping and picking cotton and never wants to see another cotton plant. As a joke I put some out in our garden once and when it got big enough to tell it was cotton instead of okra, I almost did not survive. Still limp a little from that, after 10 years. :(

As I said, I just wanted to be clear and not have anyone confused by talking about Cubs, but showing Cadets.

Sounds fun.

my son-in-law and i hope to drive an IH travelall ( in excellent original condition ) pulling a trailer with a high & wide trimmed dash cub . Backroads  , she does not care for interstate speeds at all . coppersmythe ................................also a recent acquisition , if possible , a IH 1010 pickup , factory a/c , auto tranny , power steering , and a 345 V-8 . and several 5 gallon gas cans :lol:View attachment 1

I'm helping Buck Brown run the parts consignment booth. For the ones that have spare parts that they would like to sell and they do not want to rent a vendors booth can bring them to us and we will sell them for you. ( IH Al. Chapter 23) gets a 15% commission for selling them. We will label each part with any information needed. We then will record in our book your asking price and your let go price. We will try to get the most money we can for your parts. So if any of you have spare parts laying around and don't want the hassle of trying to sell them, bring them to us and we will try to do it for you.

Thanks,
Eugene

We will begin setting up the areas at the Fair Grounds tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. I will be helping with the parts consignment and I may also be helping Mr. Hal with the cub cadets. Please look me up and say hello. It's going to be a fun week.

Had a ton of fun at the show and it was hard getting around to see everything.......I didn't even get to go to the Parts Corral or Cub Cadets..........didn't see your Travelall either.

It was good to talk to you at the parts corral Eugene. Thanks for all the work it took to put a show like this on. Looks like it's our turn in 2021.
