My telephone answering machine is old, fully functional. Records on a chip or some such, no tape or rewind. Message on it that I wish to preserve for possible use in court. All my cassette recorders have quit working. Have no "smart phone' or "rubbing phone".
Repeating the play back of a message is tedious but possible. The phone requires house AC power for play back.
Suggestions for capturing the message on a portable device ?

Go to Walmart or any electronic place and get a small digital recorder.

Depending on just what you have for a computer, a microphone plugged into it would also work. Your computer may have a mike socket or you might need a USB mike.
