Someone made a tool bar for the SA i now own, its incredibly heavy and worse it defeats the purpose of the tractor being high-crop. Looking at my SA i see there is a pair of plates I'm missing that appear to attach to the final drives with a hole that the left and right cultivator bars slide in to. Where can I find these mounting plates?....and the bars....and their names.
Looks like it may a heavy duty tool bar (or home-made copy). They were pretty common in sugar cane country. They were typically used to create rmore idges etc. Somebody that actually used them may be able to add detail.
Just bought a Super A this weekend and wanted to show some pics of how I have it set up. I had a rear toolbar in my collection, so I decided to hook it up. The discs are actually from a 3pt Poplarville disc that we cut up and welded a 2" shaft to mount the discs to the bar. I also had a SA toolbar mount plow from my grandfather, so I got to try that out again after sitting for 30 + years.
All of the tractors down here have rear toolbars and disc cultivating attachments to make raised beds. That is the only way we plant. I have a couple more for the Super A and have 5 sets of original...
You will need several items to achieve cultivators on the rear. Almost every farm equipment sale around here has some or all of these items on them. I just saw a set of them a few weeks ago when I went and bought my mini ex.
