Quick Question about the power take off.

I was thinking about trying to find a rototiller for the my 1953 Cub. My question is will the shaft drive off of the rototiller slide on the splined shaft of the pto like my woods mower did on my Ferguson tractor?
Also will the pto rotate when the tractor is not moving?
 
Short answer is NO. Cub pto shaft is different size, different splines, opposite rotation, operates at engine rpm, ground speed is too fast so you would need a speed reducer, etc. IF you want to do it, it can be done but not an "out of the box" fit. Plus there's the offset drive position of the pto shaft to deal with. There's a lot of things to consider. JMHO Stan
 
Thanks Stan, I thought it would be more of a problem then it was worth. I did search and found just what you said, so I will work on looking the parts I need to hang a 1 bottom plow on the drawbar.

They're available, just be sure that when you make the selection that you get all the parts. If you have to go looking for individual parts you'll have a lot more invested than just finding one that's complete to begin with. Below is the Cub 193 Plow owner's manual, it has lots of info, and tells how to put the plow on the Cub. This plow is for Cubs with a drawbar.
You don't use the manual lift lever, to the left of the seat, if the Cub has Touch Control.
Earlier Cub 193 plows didn't have the chain at the right, going from the plow to the depth adjusting lever bracket.
If the Cub has Touch Control, you need the rear rockshaft unit, shown on page 10.
There isn't a picture of the complete depth adjusting lever, that bolts on the right final drive. There is a parts picture of it on page 21, so you can see what it is. :)

A Cub-193 plow, complete and in good condition is your best bet. Anything else would be a compromise and difficult to find parts for.
