Question on K241 timing

I recently finished refurbishing a '59 Farmall Cub and am now moving on to doing the same to a '71 Cub Cadet 106 that has sat in my barn for 5+ years. It ran when parked. I was attempting to time it today when I noticed that the push rod between the cam and the points is not moving at all when the engine is turned by hand. No visual movement and I couldn't feel any movement.

I need some help here. Does anyone know what may have happened to cause this and what do I do to fix it? :lost:

Is the push rod stuck on the high part of the cam? Can you remove the points and pull the rod out.?

If I remember right they had trouble with some of the rods on K series engines and had a replacement for them.

Corroded aluminum push rod. As BibBill suggests, pull the push rod, then clean up the corrosion.

Clean up the pushrod either add moly anti seeze or another anti seeze to it. Once it’s running the motor oil will keep it wet.
