PTO conversion?

I assume the answer is no, but I will ask anyways: have any of you come across a way to convert the PTO on a 184/185/154 to a standard inch and three eights 540 rpm PTO? I understand that the stock unit rotates in the opposite direction. I would love to be able to run standard PTO equipment like a sprayer

Reducer / reversers are out there but they are pricey when you find one. The Hub City unit was probably the most popular but not the only one. I've seen them as reasonable as $500 but usually higher.

It would require some fabrication, the reducer/reverser is designed to mount directly over the cub pto and bolt in place there. Mounting to fit the offset 154 type pto would require some creative work, and thinking. Some sprayers will work turning in either direction, and the 540 rpm can come close by idling engine down. Another alternative would be a belt pulley drive with correct size pulleys and twisted belt. Those commercial reverser/reducers if complete with mounting hardware sometimes cost as much as running cubs.
 
The Hub City PTO Reverser can fit on a 184 with the correct mounting bracket.
I have top two of the reversers shown in the pamphlet and neither one has the fits the 184 without drilling new holes.

Here is a pamphlet that shows the different model numbers used on the cub lineup (and other tractor models) Notice the 184 is not mentioned. The top one definitely doesn't fit the 184. The bottom 3 do reverse the direction, but doesn't slow down the RPM's. I think the proper one is the second.

This is the picture I have of somebody's tractor. (with a 3-point hitch) I'm pretty sure at least one hole was drilled in the PTO plate. I can only get one hole to line up with a factory mounting hole.

I think it’s possible to figure 8 twin vee belt pullies with the orginal pro then use a combination of pulley diameters to make 540rpm?
 
That’s exactly what I’m looking for! I guess I will call the company and see if they might still stock that. Thanks much for the photos. I thought this was a lost cause
 
You mentioned a sprayer. For lawn and light garden application, I use one of these with my 184.

I wired a blade fuse and a dashboard mounted switch to a cigarette lighter on my 184. I use it to turn on and off the sprayer. Later, I discovered one of these that would have done the job better. The connectors needed are already installed and a key fob remote turns the unit on and off.

I don't know what your application is, but maybe something like this would work for your purpose.
