Plug wires

Help, I made a mistake and have mixed up the spark plug wires going to the plugs and distributor. What is the easiest way to trace those and get them back correct. Thanks.

Set #1 piston on TDC, and see which dist cap plug wire connection the rotor is pointing to then put #1 plug wire in that location on the cap. The 3 remainder connections are clockwise on the cap, 3, 4, 2. JMHO. Stan
EDIT: I should have said TDC on the compression stroke. Sorry!

Thanks so much. I’ll do that tonight! It doesn’t have any power to speak of so I think that’s the problem.

Number 1 cylinder is toward radiator going rearward toward seat, order is rad-1234-seat. Usually if set correctly the number 1 wire position on the distributor cap is approximately the 1 o’clock position. Put the number 1 wire at that terminal and work around 1342 on each cylinder. Next time you remove wires to make it easier just take a picture for reference. These cell phones are mighty handy for a lot of things these days.
