Had to take Mom to an eye appointment but managed to get the studs installed and the manifold set in place. Need to find the torque specs and tighten it down.

A little more progress. Pulled the end cover on the governor to get the timing mark cleaned up and rotated the engine around to get the cam gear in the right orientation. Then installed the upper water pipe and set the governor in place.

Put some RTV on the valve cover gasket, taped it in place, and let it sit overnight. Its stuck in place now. This tractor didn't come with pushrods so I grabbed the ones from our parts BR. Turns out the early models used a touch shorter pushrods. This year uses the same as all of the styled John Deere B's. Had a set from a parts tractor that I cleaned and installed. They have some pitting but should work. That made it so I was able to adjust the valves. The new Harbor Freight transmission jack worked great for installing the front cast frame. Still need to tighten it down after I clean up a couple more bolts that I missed.

That parts tractor comes to the rescue again. You sure are a detailed and comprehensive restorer. Fun tagging along.

You can never have too many parts tractors. ;) The Cleaning and painting I am very comfortable with but the mechanical I am always worried about doing something wrong, breaking a part, or forgetting something that could be catastrophic.

Put the radius rod on the front axle a slid it into place. The spindles are next. Need to put the races back in the front wheels, clean and grease the bearings, and mount up the tires.

Mounted the spindles and steering arms. Forgot to paint the nuts for those so I cleaned, primed, and will brush touch them later. Cleaned the bearings and installed the races. Ready to mount the tires, pack the bearings, and install the wheels.
