Does this look like too much sag? I picked up a new trailer and loaded a Cub with weights and Woods 59 Mower. I also loaded a Kubota weighing anout 2,000 lbs so I could take it for a test drive. It handled really good at 55 mph. I know I can add levelers if needed but would like to avoid that if possible. Total weight of trailer and load as shown is about 6,000 lbs. Suburban tow capacity is about 7,500 lbs. Keep in mind that I never really plan to haul a load like this. I only did this to see how the Suburban would handle the load. If I had to haul this much it would be behind the motor home or Dually.

Sag looks excessive to me. You probably are high on your tongue weight. Your safety chains need some adjustment so they won't drag.

I thought the Cub would have been lighter than the Kubota. That is why the Kubota was over the axles.

I usually put a twist or two in them to prevent the drag. Since this was only a test run to see how the Suburban performed, I got in a hurry and forgot.

I don't like driving a rig with the nose up that high. My old 2500 Ram did that when I was hauling around 10,000#. It was a 9 hour drive. I didn't care for that drive and was happy when I reached the destination.

Is that a 2500 Suburban? We are currently looking for a Suburban for Karla. Seems like there are only a few years in the last 20 that didn't have serious issues. We just got rid of a Buick that was nothing but problems. I've read the entire GM platform the Buick was built on had lots of issues.

We are also considering a 4 door Ram with a cap on the box. My 2006 has nearly 270k and has had no major issues. It's been a great truck and those don't come along all that often these days.

What is the tongue rating of the hitch? My guess is it's probably 500lbs. As Jim said it looks a little heavy to me too. Adding the leveler would distribute the weight better and make the load safer in my opinion.
