one way to tow a tractor by yourself

Had to move this nonrunner with a flat tire by myself. So I asked his big brother to help.

I did not have to move it far but I want not happy with my rig. I want to come up with a skid that I can put on the forks to secure tow tractor better.

I understand your concern. I had to move a Cub off of a trailer and into my shop to repair a broken front axle. It was all my John Deere 425 could handle, weight wise. It was pretty sketchy. Having something to support the center pivot of the Cub axle would be good but the support would need to pivot when you make turns.

I was thinking of a turntable of sorts attached to a skid. Support the axel on both sides of the pivot on the axel to a cross member and single-center support on the cross member to pivoting base on the skid

Im a retired lift truck mechanic, and that is how I would tow broken down lift trucks to the garage. I could do it by myself, no help needed

Maybe Barnyard will post a couple pics of his set-up. Last fall he was talking of some changes he wanted to make, to it but the general idea is there.
