Okay, So How Much Snow Does Michigan's UP Get?

Ricky, I want to see the picture where your wife is standing on the snow and pointing to the top of the sign. :D
Where I was stationed in Northern Japan (Misawa), the average snowfall was 210". We had to shovel off the roofs to prevent collapse and soon couldn't see out of the first floor windows.

Amateurs....

More than we get. The UP also does not get the periods of melting like what we do so it just waits for spring. I was a passenger in a Beech Debonaire landing in Marquette when everything just disappeared because the runway was a trench. Vern

Jo and I were going up to Crater Lake in October. It started to snow as we were going up into the mountains. By the time we got to the visitors center there was 6 to 8 inches on the ground. We were advised not to go up to the lake because the snow falling would obscure any view. Jo asked how many inches of snow they got in a year. The ranger paused for a few seconds (mentally converting feet to inches) before responding "540 inches." No need to do the math - that is 45 feet!
