Not receiving email notifications

Email notifications aren't coming even though all checkboxes are checked and everything is set properly. Suggestions?
 
I had the same issue not long ago, found that after an anti virus update it was trashing them before they made my inbox
 
Got it figured out. Verizon turned their email responsibilties over to AOL and AOL instituted a new SPAM filter which essentially filters out all your mail as SPAM and makes you responsible for signing on online, going into the SPAM folder and check boxing everything that isn't SPAM so the filter can learn what is and isn't SPAM. There's no way to regulate the level of filtering or to turn it off. Unbelieveable. There were 57 emails in the SPAM folder and all were good. Here's the best part, two of those emails were actually from AOL. :roll:

Yeah, wish I could but it's their (DSL) wires running to the house. GMail is Google (nuff said) and Yahoo sucks. Cable wants me to subscribe to their TV (not gonna happen) in order to get Internet so options are non-existant.
