Northern Michigan and U.P. Winter Storm - March 2026

We're supposed to have four consecutive days of record highs. It's 5:30 pm and it's 82* here. Snow pack is down 40-60% depending on the basin, and this heat will cause an early runoff which will make things worse this summer. I hope you were south of the storm....
 
It doesn't look like this in the Crystal Falls/Iron River area. We got a lot of wind and a couple feet maybe. I heard there were areas that got slammed though.
 
Gotta be tough to survive in the U.P. Spent 8 seasons deer hunting in Iron County beginning in year 1986. Snow was common but nothing like this storm. Heading back there early summer on a fishing trip and hope the snow is gone by then.
