Hasn't rained the entire month of September here in Mountain Maryland. Fortunately the garden is just about finished. Everything else needs a drink, though.
 
Same here in western, central Virginia we are very dry fortunately crops matured before dry spell, but we really need rain. It looked as though we would get some hurricane rain, but it all went around us .

5 weeks in this part of Missouri with no significant rain, only a few very light showers. Not quite enough to settle the dust.

Been watering the flowers and the house garden for 3 weeks.

Will mow the lawn tomorrow to cut the crab grass and weeds. Regular lawn grass stopped growing weeks ago.

Edit. Drive over 2 low water crossings to get to acreage. Water under both crossings is spring fed unless it rains. Both crossings are down to a bare trickle.
 
We've had over 2" in the past week which is real unusual for September. All the fields and pastures are still green.
 
No amount of significant rain in my part of Missouri for about 2 months or more. Very, very dry.
 
In NY it was a cold dry Spring with a late bud killing frost, Summer came in by the date but the temps were low hardly felt like Summer , we had rain about every three or four days untl about 2 1/2 weeks ago when it dried up and got really hot high 80's and 90's, todays extended forecast is for a week of dry warm weather ,after the Summer we had dry and warm feels darn good :D
 
2 1/2 inches for the month of September, about an inch below normal. August was 2 inches below normal. Crops did well, in spite of the lck of moisture.

Checked my deer food plot today. Plants are only 1 to 2 inches tall. Should be well over a foot tall.

Pasture grass has been eaten down. From the cow patties, cattle are still there, should be rotated to another pasture. Not sure of the condition of the cattle owner's other pastures. Have the feeling that the cattle are feeding in the timber, eating browse and available grass.

Should have started watering the garden much earlier. Appears that I have lost about 1/2 of my strawberry plants. Only 3 of my 24 planted garlic cloves has sprouted - planted 6 weeks ago.
 
Not only dry but unseasonably warm. State a week or so ago said sw MI was moderate drought whatever that means. Rototilled garden this afternoon and just dust. Only things left to water are tomatoes, radishes, spinach, zuc, and flowers. 81 now, normal is mid 70 but late Sep saw 6 days of 90's. Total of 10 90 degree days this year with the other 4 in early July. Been a cool summer with canning tomatoes 2 weeks late. Forecast to rain in a couple of days. Now it will rain. Farmers are starting to harvest beans. Vern
 
Wettest August in Sixty years here. Farms flooded houses flooded widespread damage to roads, bridges, crops. It will take millions to fix, winter fodder will have to be hauled in from other parts of Ireland. Donegal suffered the worst of it. September not much better, farmers at wits end.

Yup. Didn't think the above average temperature would last as long as they did. Didn't turn on the A/C, expecting the high temps to only last a day or two. Thinking temps in the lower 70's at night, no problem sleeping. Big mistake.

Currently 77 degrees. Typing this in my shorts with fan in the window. Expected low tonight, 69 degrees, no rain in the forecast until Wednesday

Frugal should be my middle name. To cheap to turn on the A/C. I'm currently 73 years of age, didn't have A/C for 53 plus of those years. Will probably survive another night, or two, or three, without A/C.
 
About 2 inches of rain in the last 8 days. Rain has been the slow soak in type needed. Currently drizzling.

Radishes in the garden have perked up. Garlic planted almost 2 moths ago has sprouted.

Normal first frost is any time between mid and end of October. Hopefully it will hold off for another 3 or 4 weeks.
 
We've had rain off and on for about a week. Picked up over an inch last night. We are now right at average first frost date. I'm ready. Not much left in garden and time to clean up, till and shut down for winter. Vern
