Hi all. I recently purchased a 1952 Super A; I bought it at auction so I don't know anything about it's history, nor do I know much about tractors in general. Attached to the 'touch control' levers, there is a gauge housing with no gauge. Is there supposed to be a hydraulic gauge or something like that in that position. From what I've been able to find out so far, I think that housing was added by a previous owner and that it's not original.

Welcome to the forum. Never seen anything like that on any tractor, probably a PO add-on. A lot can happen in the 75 years since this tractor was new. JMHO Stan

There was a Touch-Control temperature gauge on the later Super As. I don't know if that is the correct bracket, but it is the correct location. Look on the left side of the Touch-Control unit for the access plate of the strainer (held with 4 bolts). If there is a fitting in the center of that plate, it was for the temperature sender.

Learn something new every day! Tks Jim. Stan

My Super C had the same thing.

Jim nailed it. And he actually answered another question I had, which is "what in the world was supposed to be attached to that thing, and what is it?"
Thanks guys!

Hi,
The Super A operator's manual can help you learn about maintenance that the Super A needs.
Below is the Super A and Super AV operator's manual. The experts on here recommend people read it. It has lots of info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. There is an index beginning on page 74.
It shows how the Super A originally looked in it. The lube section begins on page 20.
There is a tire inflation table telling what pressures to use on page 53. :)
