New Lo Boy 154, New Problem

I am not new to 154’s but this one has me stumped. Go figure another clutch issue.

I have adjusted it every which way. When I depress the clutch pedal currently, it bogs the engine just a bit and does stop the clutch from spinning, as long as the tractor is at idle. If it is anything above idle it never actually fully engages the clutch and keeps slowly turning. And after a while it doesn’t really stop it at all anymore. Do you think it’s a clutch brake issue or a clutch adjustment since it bogs the tractor?

Side question;
Also when I move hydraulic lift lever up or down the lift raises when the lever is in either direction. Worn out valve?

Thank you in advance

got 154 and 185's here but clutches worked fine in them. got a 154 torn apart right now. clutch worked fine it it when it was running a few years ago.
Sounds like your pressure plate is not releasing or disks are swelled/sticky/rusty/etc and not slipping when released. If pressure plate is adjusted right then disks could be the problem.
the hydraulic system in these are only a single acting system. power up--- gravity down. if it tries to raise in both positions then the valve is either stuck or junk.

I had a similar problem. Driveshaft splines were badly worn where the clutch disk rides. With the clutch released, the disk was still held against the transmission flywheel. The input shaft is still trying to turn and the clutch brake is trying to stop it, loading the engine. Engine off, depress the clutch and see if the disc is tight against the flywheel but loose from the pressure plate. If so, pull the drive shaft and you should see worn spot on the splines with a sharp shoulder towards the engine. New drive shaft and probably clutch disk.
