Paid a visit to my local New Holland dealer last month to take advantage of there yearly parts sale and get a few things I needed for my 450 sickle bar mower.
Well, I figured I would get a few new mower guards (new holland calls them fingers) part #144176 while they was "on sale"! $17.10ea minus 10% off!
Luckily they gave me the shipping box with the last two, but it was not until got home that I got the surprise!
MADE IN CHINA!!!!
I was disgusted! These are supposed to be premium factory parts, and they surely reflect premium in the "premium price"!
One of them even had a ledger plate rivet that stuck up too high, where the knife would rub on it, maybe ruining the knife!
A quick search on the internet found me where I could get aftermarket ones, A&I brand for $7.xxea. Probably chinese too, but more realisticly priced for china garbage!
Well, I returned the New Holland chinese guards for a refund, and if I HAVE to buy chinese ones, I might as well get the lower cost ones!!!
If ANYONE knows of a manufacture making sickle mower guards (fingers) HERE in the good ole USA, PLEASE PLEASE let me know!
