My “New” Carry-all, Ready For Use!

Last weekend, I got the fast hitch mounted on my ‘57, the one we brought back to life at the Bash (thanks everyone!). Then I set about replacing the lumber on the Carry-all I brought home from the Bash. When we replaced our deck several years ago I saved almost all of the lumber. One of the smartest things I ever did! (It’s a short list.) so that’s what I used on the Carry-all. It’s amazing how well that wood cleans up with a pressure washer. I’m really pleased with how it turned out! Been wanting one of these for a long time.

I was also planning to mount my 54a blade on the front of this Cub permanently. Does that interfere with the fast hitch in any way? I’m imagining wanting to raise or lower one and the other moves as well, perhaps in a way that I don’t want it to.

You’re correct that the front and rear hydraulics move simultaneously. There are workarounds, though. We’ll discuss them when you get to that bridge.
One option to have the front remain in a position as the rear moves is this device used with mid mounted mower, etc. Stan

The carrier looks good in your pictures.
You can easily take the carrier off when wanting to lower the blade, since it's a Fast Hitch carrier.
Or you can use the rod Peter showed above.
The parts Peter and Stan showed above were originally for use with the Cub 22 Mower, as I remember.
IH had a package of parts with those in it.

I'd just be happy to have touch control. Is it wrong to want it even if I don't have any implements to go with it?
Personally, I don't think so............ I have a LoBoy with a Fast Hitch and NOTHING to connect to it. I might make a FH trailer ball connector to use it for moving trailers. :) Stan

The manual lift lever for Cubs goes to the left side of the seat.
The lever to the right side of the seat is part of the fast hitch, it's the depth adjusting lever, it controls the height of the fast hitch bail, and the plow depth when plowing.
All Cubs with fast hitch originally have touch control.
I can see Clint's Cub has touch control, in the pictures at the 1st post above.
IH used the depth adjusting lever from when the fast hitch came out, in later 1954, until about 1957, then they changed to a crank, where the lever is.
Below is a page from the 1955 Cub operator's manual showing the fast hitch.

Thanks for the hold up bracket thought. My 63 Loboy is my mowing rig and snow plowing rig. Both implements fit at the same time….so I never take the mower off…but it does push a bit of snow when you put the blade down.
