Just figured I would start a thread here about my Cub. Over time I hope to do some work on it.
It's a 1953, and I bought it about a month ago up in Hendersonville, NC, and brought it down the mountain to where I live in Greenville, SC in the bed of my pickup.
I had a close call getting it out of the truck and bent my ramps. Thankfully they both bent at the same time, and let me down gently.
Serial 163120
Includes belly mower same width as the tractor.
As you see, it has had some backwoods backyard modifications. I want to get the electrical system stabilized to 12 volt. I think it still needs an alternator, don't think it has one yet.
It runs and mows, but it's rough. The steering is sloppy, and I know the front tie rods are loose and one is bent. The transmission shifts pretty hard. Brakes need to be adjusted or replaced. The seat is a mess. Looks like someone inserted a piece of steel to raise it up higher. I also need to take off that nasty taped on padding, and either replace it with a good cushion or use the seat bare.
